Homemade Soup and Desserts to benefit the 2nd Harvest Food Bank with special guest speaker, Marty Essen, presenting his slideshow, “Around the World in 90 Minutes” on Friday, November 6, 2009 in the Moomaw Center. Staff, Faculty and clubs provide homemade soups and desserts from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Cash donations will benefit the 2nd Harvest Food Bank. Every $1 raised will purchase $6 worth of food for the Food Bank. Marty Essen’s show will begin at 11:30 am and end at 1:00 pm. Signed copies of his book will be for sale after the show. Marty Essen will speak to students about becoming a published writer. Join him in the Moomaw Center from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Marty will discuss different aspects of his writing career including his book and various magazine articles. Registration for Spring Semester is underway. Veterans' Day Remembrance Wednesday, November 11 at 11:00 am in Moomaw Center Hollins University representative on campus on November 12. Visit Ms. Barnhart in Student Services 11:00- 12:30 or visit her in the Achievement Center from 12:30- 1:00 during a "Transfer Party"--the first of a new series for the 2009-2010 academic year! |
